Mint Julep
4 ounces bourbon
6 sprigs of mint
2 tablespoons simple syrup
Mix 4 ounces bourbon, 6 sprigs of mint, and 2 tablespoons simple syrup in a pint muddle for about a minute. Let stand for several minutes. Strain into a glass filled with shaved ice. For guests who particularly like mint, remove the three pieces of ice, leave the mint, and pour all ingredients into the glass followed by fresh ice. Top with soda water and a sprig of mint.
