crème de cassis
A specialty of the Burgundy region of France, Crème de Cassis is made from blackcurrants (cassis in French) which have been crushed and soaked in alcohol before straining and sweetening with sugar. Crème de Cassis is most notably used in the drinks Kir and Kir Royale.
