Twentieth Century Cocktail
The Twentieth Century cocktail was named in honor of the famous Twentieth Century Limited passenger train (1902) which could travel from New York to Chicago in a record breaking 20 hours. It was well known for its grand elegance, with passengers walking down a red carpet to board. The Café Royale cocktail book credits the recipe to a British bartender by the name of C. A. Tuck. The drink languishes in obscurity for many decades, until it is unearthed by Ted “Dr. Cocktail” Haigh and was included it in his book “Vintage Spirits and Forgotten Cocktails”.
