Crème de Noyaux

Few cordials come with such ominous words of warning. "Wise men take it with coffee, and only one or two," wrote Charles H. Baker in his Gentlemen's Companion of 1934. "In peach and apricot pits there is a cyanide influence which most people don't know about, and over dosing will definitely become injurious. In small amounts it is perfectly safe."

Colorless or pink - depending on the brand - this sweet digestif tastes most like almonds, though there are hints of cherry, plum, and, of course, peach and apricot.
