Serves four
2 pounds of asparagus
When buying asparagus, the thinner the better.
Rinse the asparagus, and chop off the ends, leaving approximately 3 inches from tip to end. Place into a pot of water - if you have a steamer, all the better. Bring to boil, and allow to simmer for about 10 minutes. Check tenderness with a fork - it is much better to have your asparagus al dente than overcooked. When asparagus is done, remove from pot and serve immediately.
